Andrew Clausen

statement

My work is an investigation into forms found in architecture, mechanical engineering, and infrastructure. Traditional sculpture techniques and digital fabrication come together in my studio to create layered constructions of concrete, metal, polymers, and wood. Through a unique process, I aim to shape unified artworks with the qualities of the individual materials and an underlying graphical composition. My intention is to create works of art that invoke a sense of permanence and resonate human effort.
